This service works by diverting customer’s mail through a powerful anti-spam engine. Obvious spam is deflected. Clean mail is delivered seamlessly to customer’s mail boxes. Marginal mail is quarantined securely off-site and is easily accessible via reporting functions. The intelligence built into this solution enables filtering to be easily fine-tuned to individual user's specific requirements. This unique solution utilizes the Marshal SpamCensor anti-spam technology engine. SpamCensor is a multi-faceted, heuristic spam filter. Bluegate 420/Bluegate 490 solution incorporates heuristic message analysis, header composition analysis, ESMTP receiver checking and HELO checks, RBL or Real-time Blackhole List referencing and many other spam identification technologies. The end result is a 99.5% spam detection rate with near zero false positives. Filtering is extremely fast and efficient. Anti-spam updates are maintained and automatically distributed. Customers are offered a range of spam handling options, from blocking spam outright to tagging subject lines and delivering the messages
